Help For Anxiety

It's Time to Start Living Again.

We Can Help.

It's Time...

Feeling overwhelmed and stressed every once in a while is normal and can even be good for you. But when thoughts and emotions are consumed with constant fear and worry that it becomes difficult to make everyday decisions, you may be struggling with a more severe form of stress called anxiety.

Anxiety can be defined simply as over worrying about the past, present, or future. That anxiety manifests a number of ways including:

  • Nervousness, restlessness or being tense

  • Feelings of danger, panic or dread

  • Rapid breathing or hyperventilation

  • Increased or heavy sweating

  • Trembling or muscle twitching

  • Weakness or lethargy

  • Difficulty focusing or thinking clearly about anything other than the thing you’re worried about

  • Insomnia

  • Obsessions about certain ideas, a sign of obsessive-compulsive disorder

  • Anxiety surrounding a particular life event or experience that has occurred in the past, a sign of post-traumatic stress disorder

At Tampa Christian Counseling, our professional therapists are trained to work with you step by step. First we will help you identify the thoughts that drive the anxious feelings. We look for patterns in these thoughts, and develop a better sense of where these patterns may be deeper rooted. Finally, we will help you replace these fear driven thoughts with more balanced positive thoughts that will in turn help you change your unwanted behavior, such as avoidance or panic attacks. Often we are working simultaneously to change thoughts and behaviors, which in turn results in a more steady emotional response, allowing you to feel more in control.

Don’t let your anxiety keep you from getting the help that you need. Taking the steps to get help today, will result in your feeling more in control and more yourself again.

Starting Is Easy...

Taking that first step towards getting help for anxiety can feel daunting, but with the support of a compassionate counselor, the process can be surprisingly easy.

Why Christian Counseling?

Right For You

When facing the challenges of anxiety, seeking professional help is crucial. But why consider Christian counseling specifically?

Christian counseling offers a unique and holistic approach to mental health that integrates your faith with evidence-based therapeutic practices. It recognizes the spiritual dimension of our struggles and provides a safe space to explore how your relationship with God and understanding of His Word can bring hope and healing.

A Christian counselor can help you identify and address root causes of anxiety that may be related to spiritual struggles, unresolved guilt, or questions of identity and purpose.

Christian counseling provides a unique set of benefits for those seeking help with anxiety. It offers a supportive environment where you can freely discuss your faith and explore how it intersects with your mental health. By integrating biblical principles and prayer, Christian counseling can help you find deeper meaning and purpose in your suffering, fostering a sense of hope and resilience. It can also provide guidance in developing spiritual disciplines like prayer and meditation, which can be powerful tools in managing depression symptoms and promoting overall well-being.

If you're feeling lost and overwhelmed by anxiety, Christian counseling can offer a path toward healing and wholeness that addresses your spiritual, emotional, and mental needs. It's an opportunity to draw strength from your faith while developing practical coping strategies to overcome the challenges you face.
